Overview

The Acosta Mine successfully commenced production in June 2017, and currently employs approximately 100 full-time workers.

This mine was the first underground metallurgical coal mine opened in Pennsylvania several years. This event attracted global media attention and President Trump participated in a video message celebrating the grand opening. A video of the President’s address can be seen below.

The Acosta mine is currently operating at full run-rate production levels and is expected to produce between 380,000 – 420,000 tons per year of low volatile metallurgical coal.
