George G. Dethlefsen - Chief Executive Officer
George G. Dethlefsen was appointed Chief Executive Officer in August 2014 and has been a member of the Board of Directors since July 2013. Previously Mr. Dethlefsen was Managing Director at Quintana Energy Partners where he was the sector head of coal and downstream investments. Prior to joining Quintana, Mr. Dethlefsen worked for the General Partner of Natural Resource Partners, L.P. and worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department of Goldman, Sachs, & Co.  Mr. Dethlefsen attended Rice University, where he earned a B.A. in Economics and Managerial Studies, and The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned an MBA.

Kevin M. Harrigan – Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary
Kevin M. Harrigan was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary in June 2015.  Previously Mr. Harrigan was a Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller of Walter Energy, Inc., a producer of coal, coke, and natural gas.  Prior to Walter Energy, Mr. Harrigan worked for CONSOL Energy, Inc. for ten years in various accounting roles, last serving as General Manager, Accounting and Reporting.  Prior to his service at CONSOL Energy, Inc., Mr. Harrigan was a Staff Auditor at Arthur Andersen, LLP.  Mr. Harrigan earned a B.S. in business administration and a M.S. in accountancy from Duquesne University, and is a Certified Public Accountant. 

Larry Evans - Vice President, Business Development and Strategy
Larry Evans was appointed Vice-President of Business Development and Strategy in March 2017.  Previously Mr. Evans was Senior Director of Exploration and Technical Support for Walter Energy and Vice President - WV Operations Western Coal / Walter Energy.   He has worked as an independent consultant for KPMG Restructuring of Canada.  Prior to joining the Walter Energy/ Western Coal company groups he served as a Director of Mining and Financial Analysis at Marshall Miller and Associates and Director of Operational Engineering and Mine Superintendent for Peabody Coal.  Larry is a Mining Engineering and MBA Graduate from West Virginia University.  He has over 25 years’ experience working in the coal industry.  He has served as a board member of the West Virginia Coal Association and West Virginia Mining Institute.  

Daniel M. Bonacci - Controller
Daniel M. Bonacci was appointed Controller in February 2017.  Prior to joining Corsa, Mr. Bonacci was a Director of Global Financial Planning and Analysis at United States Steel Corporation.  During more than 18 years with U. S. Steel, Mr. Bonacci held various financial analysis, accounting, and internal audit roles at both the operating facilities and at headquarters, and held a key role as the measurements leader for the company-wide transformation effort.  A lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Bonacci earned a B.S. in business administration and a Masters of Business Administration from Duquesne University.  Mr. Bonacci also served on the Duquesne University Alumni Association Board of Governors. 

 

Northern Appalachia ("NAPP") Division

Peter V. Merritts –President
Peter V. Merritts was appointed President of the Northern Appalachia Division on February 16, 2015. Prior to this, Mr. Merritts was President of AMFIRE Mining Company, LLC, a former subsidiary of Alpha Natural Resources, since 2003.  He has over 40 years of experience in the coal industry and has also held leadership positions with Alliance Resource Partners, LP, and the mining operations of Bethlehem Steel Corporation.  Mr. Merritts has a B.S. degree in Mining Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, an MBA from Harvard University, and is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania.

Joseph A. Gallo – Senior Vice President
Joseph A. Gallo was appointed Senior Vice President of PBS Coals in August 2013 and was President of Wilson Creek Energy since 2012. Mr. Gallo been involved in all phases of coal mining over the past 33 years and is the former President and Chief Operating Officer of PBS Coals Ltd. (prior to Corsa Coal Corp.’s acquisition). Mr. Gallo attended Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a B.S. degree in Mining Engineering.

 

Central Appalachia ("CAPP") Division

Hunter Hobson – President
Hunter Hobson was appointed President of the Central Appalachia Division in April 2017. Mr. Hobson served as the Vice President of Sales for Kopper Glo Mining, a subsidiary of Corsa since 2014. Mr. Hobson has more than 12 years’ experience in the domestic, international and business development sectors of the coal industry. Prior to this, Mr. Hobson was the Director of Sales at Smoky Mountain Coal Corporation. Mr. Hobson has sat on numerous coal industry association boards and he is the current Chairman of the Tennessee Mining Association. Mr. Hobson received his Bachelor of Administration in Advertising from the University of Tennessee.

Jason A. Prater – Vice President and Controller
Jason A. Prater was appointed Vice President and Controller of Kopper Glo Mining in March 2016. Mr. Prater served as the Controller for Kopper Glo Mining since March 2013. Previously, Mr. Prater worked in the mining industry for seven years. Mr. Prater is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Berea College and a Masters of Business Administration from Morehead State University.

Ronald Helton – Vice President - Operations
Ronald Helton has served as Manager of Underground and Highwall Mining of Kopper Glo Mining since April 2010. Mr. Helton has more than 30 years of experience in Central Appalachian underground coal mining and has held positions such as Mechanic, Electrician, Section Foreman, and Operations Manager for Ikerd Coal, Transco Energy, and James River.
